Lack of self- esteem is the negative judgment of self -worth.
Possessing little self-esteem can lead a person to become depressed, to fall short of their potential, or to tolerate abusive situations and relationships. A common feature of low self – esteem is the tendency to look back and view the past negatively with the use of language such as “ I should have …, I could have …” with very little self –compassion.
I work with the person to connect with their self- worth and view it in a balanced way. I help them develop self- compassion practices which foster positive self- worth which leads to empowerment and the ability to stand up for oneself.
